Abstract
This article discusses the didactic potential of role-playing and simulation technologies in developing professional communicative competence among students of non-philological specialties. Professional communicative competence is interpreted not only as the ability to communicate in a foreign language, but also as the ability to identify professional problems, exchange information, make decisions, formalize results and evaluate one’s communicative performance in a professional context. The article substantiates role-playing and simulation tasks as a pedagogical mechanism that integrates professional situations, roles, communicative tasks, professional genres, communicative products and reflection.
