Doriscan: a mobile model for barcode-based medicine identification and safety warning generation

Abstract
This thesis presents a conceptual mobile model named DoriScan for identifying medicines by barcode and generating concise safety-oriented warnings based on trusted pharmaceutical information. The system is considered as an informational support tool rather than a diagnostic or prescribing medical device. The proposed model combines a mobile barcode scanner, server-side API, medicine database, local cache and an artificial intelligence module for processing official instruction texts. The paper outlines the system architecture, data flow and preliminary evaluation criteria for a future prototype.
