THE ROLE OF INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGIES IN INDEPENDENT LEARNING

Abstract
This article examines the role of information and communication technologies in organizing and improving independent learning in modern education. The study highlights the importance of digital tools, electronic educational resources, online platforms, multimedia materials, and internet-based information sources in developing students’ independent learning skills. Special attention is given to the formation of information search, selection, analysis, and critical evaluation competencies. The article also discusses how ICT supports individual learning, increases student motivation, and creates opportunities for flexible and effective education. It is concluded that the effective use of ICT in independent learning contributes to improving educational quality and developing students’ digital competence.
