GLOBAL TRENDS: DEVELOPMENT OF THE WORLD ECONOMY IN THE CONTEXT OF DIGITALIZATION

Abstract

The article analyzes current trends in the world economy and examines the impact of digitalization on the formation of environmental policy. The essence of greening is clarified and its role in creating the necessary conditions for sustainable development is highlighted. Particular emphasis is placed on reducing the negative environmental impact of economic activity, lowering energy consumption, and using natural resources rationally. Digital technologies are shown to contribute to more efficient resource use, while green technologies and renewable energy sources help reduce greenhouse-gas emissions and other pollutants. The article considers IoT, sensors, big data, artificial intelligence, blockchain, e-government, and environmental start-ups as important tools supporting environmental policy. It concludes that the successful development of the world economy should be based on a balance between technological, social, and environmental factors, with digital technologies becoming an important part of this ecosystem.
