SYNERGIZING GREEN ECONOMY AND DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION FOR SUSTAINABLE AND TECHNOLOGY-DRIVEN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT: AN INDIAN PERSPECTIVE

Abstract
The convergence of green economy principles and digital transformation has emerged as a critical pathway for achieving sustainable economic development. India, as one of the fastest-growing economies, is simultaneously advancing environmental sustainability and digital innovation through initiatives such as Digital India, Smart Cities Mission, National Solar Mission, and National Green Hydrogen Mission. This study examines how digital technologies support green economic development by enhancing resource efficiency, renewable energy integration, environmental monitoring, and sustainable finance. Using a qualitative research methodology based on secondary data from Scopus-indexed literature, government reports, and institutional publications, the study explores the opportunities and challenges associated with green-digital integration in India. The findings indicate that digital technologies act as catalysts for sustainability by improving operational efficiency, promoting renewable energy adoption, and facilitating green finance. The study concludes that a coordinated green-digital strategy can significantly contribute to sustainable and technology-driven economic development.
