ON THE EFFECTIVENESS OF SELECTED DISTANCE LEARNING TECHNOLOGIES

Abstract
This article examines the pedagogical and organizational-technological conditions that determine the effectiveness of distance learning. Particular attention is paid to the distinction between the simple exchange of educational information and a fully interactive learning environment in which the learner becomes an active subject of cognitive activity. Case-based technologies, email, web conferences, videoconferencing, virtual whiteboards, learning management systems, and blended interaction formats are analyzed. It is substantiated that the effectiveness of distance learning is determined not only by technical equipment, but also by the quality of instructional design, the level of feedback, the teacher’s digital competence, and the degree of learner autonomy.
