Abstract

This paper repositions the development of Chinese culture in Uzbekistan within the framework of digital transformation, intercultural pedagogy, and China-Central Asia educational cooperation. Drawing on documentary materials, policy information, and institutional data, it examines how Chinese language education, Confucius Institutes, student mobility, and university partnerships have established a foundation for digital education and innovative pedagogy. The study shows that Chinese language education in Uzbekistan has generally developed through three stages: early institutional formation during the Soviet period, expansion under bilateral educational agreements, and rapid growth in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative. At the same time, the current model still faces several limitations, including insufficient digital infrastructure for cultural learning, inadequate localization of pedagogy, and weak integration between language education and STEAM-related fields. The paper argues that future China-Uzbekistan educational cooperation should shift from institution-centered cultural transmission toward learner-centered intercultural education supported by digital technologies and ethical governance. Such a shift can expand inclusive educational access, strengthen teachers' professional competence, and connect humanistic understanding with science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics education.
